Ingredients Quantity to Prepare Dahi Vada Recipe

  • 1 cup Urad Dal.
  • 2 teaspoon Jeera.
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Salt.
  • 3 cups Yogurt or Curd.
  • 5 teaspoon Powdered Sugar.
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder.
  • 2 teaspoon Jeera Powder.
  • Sev Bhujia.
  • Curry leaves.
  • Red Chilly.
  • Mustard Seeds.
  • Tamarind Pulp.
  • Deep frying Oil.
  • Salt to Taste.

Steps To Prepare Dahi Vada Recipe

1 First soak Urad dal for 3 to 4 hours and in a food processor grind them nicely. Whisk the dal till it becomes light and fluffy. Add jeera, Salt and Black Pepper. The batter is ready.

2 With wet palms add small portions of batter into hot oil. Deep fry the Vadas till golden brown.Then transfer the hot vadas to cold water and let it soak till its soft.

3 Soak the tamarind pulp in water for 25-30 minutes. Squeeze it with your hand to extract all the pulp. Strain and thrown away the residue in the strainer.

4 Add the tamarind water in a saucepan and add sugar. Cook on low heat till the sugar dissolves.

5 Now add Red chilli powder, jeera powder, salt, black salt and chat masala. Let it cool.

6 Whisk yogurt with some powdered sugar, Salt, Jeera powder. Now add soaked vadas into curd mixture.

7 Heat 2 teaspoon oil in a nonstick pan, add Red Chilly, Mustard Seeds and Curry Leaves, when it starts to pop ud add this to Dahi Vada.

8 In a plate place bhallas. Break them a little from the middle Add Sweetened curd, khatti meethi chutney, Black Salt, Chat masala.

9 Finally garnish with Sev Bhujia.

Now Dahi Vada is Ready to Serve hot.
