Ingredients Quantity to Prepare Prawn Fried Rice Recipe

  • 2 cups cooled cooked brown Basmati Rice.
  • 1 Egg beaten.
  • 450 grams Small Prawns peeled and deveined.
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Bran Oil.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds.
  • 1 Clove.
  • 1 Green Cardamom. 
  • 1/2 inch Cinnamon.
  • 1 Bay Leaf.
  • 2 Onions properly chopped.
  • 2 Garlic cloves chopped properly.
  • 2 medium Tomatoes cut into small pieces.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder.
  • Salt to Taste.
  • 1/2 Turmeric Powder.
  • 4-5 Black Peppercorns crushed.
  • 1 tablespoon Fennel Seeds Powder.
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh Coriander.

Steps To Prepare Prawn Fried Rice Recipe

1Heat the oil in a non-stick pan. Add the mustard seeds, clove, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf and saute for a minute. Add the onions and garlic and saute for about five minutes or until the onions are lightly browned.

2Lower the heat and add the tomatoes pressing them with the back of the spoon till all the moisture evaporates and the oil separates. Add the chili powder, salt, turmeric powder and one-fourth of the crushed black peppercorns.

3Cook for a minute. Add the prawns and cook for five minutes, stirring occasionally.

4Stir in the powdered fennel, the remaining crushed peppercorns and a pinch of salt into the beaten egg and pour over the prawns. The egg should coat the prawns.

5Cook for another minute, add the rice and cook for two to three minutes or until the egg is cooked and the prawns are pink.

6Garnish with the fresh coriander and serve.

Now Prawn Fried Rice is Ready to Serve hot.
